The Last Dance Episode 4 recap

Phil Jackson: Michael Jordan Had Something Coachable 'Kobe Didn't ...
Opposites do attract. Michael Jordan was the ultimate competitor. Phil Jackson was the conductor trying to keep everyone together. (Google Images for Reuse)

We all wanted to be like Mike. But, maybe we should be more like Phil Jackson. Jackson was the head coach of 11 NBA Championship teams.

Modern day basketball fans may remember Jackson being the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. That partnership created 5 NBA Championships with Kobe Bryant leading the way.

But, we forget that Jackson was with the Bulls for all 6 NBA Championships. The 1997-98 season was going to be last according to general manager Jerry Krause.

The episode takes a deep dive into The Zen Master. This includes his playing days as a New York Knicks where he won two NBA Championships as a player.

The triangle offense got popular. Of course, there are fans out there like my dad who say that Jackson would not be a legend if he did not coach MJ and Kobe.

That is true. But, there is no Michael Jordan without Phil Jackson. This episode also dives into the Bulls-Pistons rivalry. There was also a mini-rivalry between Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan.

However, the line of the episode belonged to former Chicago Bull, Horace Grant. The line does contain some mature language so I will leave it at that.

This series continues to get better and better.
