Episode 3 was all about “The Spider” Dennis Rodman. No, he did not talk about his relations with North Korea Supreme Leader Ken Jong-un.
Let us not forget, Rodman is one of the greatest defensive players in basketball history. Put away his antics off the court for a minute.
Rodman was part of two dynasties in the NBA. He won two titles as part of the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons in the early 1990’s. He would change his hairstyle after getting traded to the enemy known as the Chicago Bulls.
Rodman was one of the most hated players in the NBA. Hated because of his competitiveness. Hated because of his antics on and off the court.
He was a misfit that turned into a defensive stalwart. He won two Defensive Player of the Year Awards. He led the league in rebounds for 7 straight seasons.
Yes, he had weird requests just to get interviewed for The Last Dance. But his teammates loved him. They even let him go to Las Vegas for a couple of days during the season.
Imagine having social media with Rodman taking over Sin City. Michael Jordan had to pick him up from a hotel and drag him to practice.
However, all of this ties to an MJ story. Rodman being the villain when the Pistons denied Jordan multiple trips to the NBA Finals.
But, it came full circle because the Bulls wanted more toughness on the court. He worn out his welcome in the Motor City. He got paired with the right head coach in Phil Jackson.
Give credit to the editing team for not turning this into a North Korea propaganda speech by Rodman.
